Eleven named to compete in 2023 calypso finals at Dimanche Gras

The eleven calypsonians to compete against the reigning monarch in the 2023 Calypso Finals on Sunday, July 9 in the Dimanche Gras show have been announced. They will come up against Maxwell 'Tajoe' Francis who won the crown in 2022.   The 11 finalists, and the song they sang to get to the finals are: 1. Gosnel ‘GC’ Cupid – Crisis 6. Robert ‘Patches’ King – Do the right thing 7. Bernard ‘Reality’ White – I am Calypso 8. Omani Cupid – My Time 9. Carlos ‘Rejector’ Providence – Use the Anthem More 10. Glenroy ‘Sulle’ Caesar – We Outside 11. Cleo ‘Cleopatra’ Hendrickson – Gun Violence
